Harvey Barnes has stated that if he could pick one player to put in his fantasy football team then it would be Tottenham’s Harry Kane, as he told Amazon Prime Sport.
The Leicester City winger also stated that the ‘easy’ answer to provide for the Premier League’s top-scorer this season would be Kane – based on what he did during the last campaign.
Kane only has one Premier League goal to his name this season and life has started in a pretty tough fashion.
He didn’t feature in the first few games of the campaign for Spurs, after an on-going and well-documented issue about his future.
It also meant that, after arriving late because of Euro 2020 and confusion over when he was meant to return to training, he didn’t get a pre-season under his belt.
That has been evident out on that pitch because he has looked like the shadow of the player that, not only won the Golden Boot last term, but was also the top assist-maker in the country.
Nonetheless, Barnes would have come up against the England captain on a number of occasions and he had nothing but positive words to say about the player.
One player he would have in his fantasy team: “I’ve got to say, Kane,” said Barnes. “Based on last year, the stats he was putting up. He will definitely be in mine, anyway.
“I just think purely based on the stats that he put up last year. He is probably a banker.”
On who will finish top-scorer: “It’s a tough one. Kane would be the easy one to say, wouldn’t he? Because off last year.”

In 12 games this season, Kane has seven goals to his name and that’s what he would push forward to you, if asked about his form.
But that doesn’t tell the real story because his performances suggest that it has been a struggle for him.
Five of those goals have come in the newly-formed Europa Conference League, the other in the League Cup and then his goal against Newcastle in the Premier League.
With another domestic game against Burnley tonight, the pressure might be off Kane to score and help Spurs progress through to the next round of the League Cup.
