Reported £55 million Tottenham Hotspur target Milan Skriniar has suggested his future lies at the San Siro, telling Sempre Inter his “dream” is to lift silverware with Antonio Conte’s Inter.
Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier may have done a passible impression of Jose Mourinho’s old Terry-Carvalho partnership during a run of successive clean sheets against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal – but that hasn’t stopped the Spurs boss pining for a long-time transfer target.
Skriniar was frequently linked with Mourinho’s Manchester United.
And, according to ESPN, the Slovakia international is still priority number one for the Tottenham manager.
The Premier League’s dark horses were heavily linked with Skriniar during the summer too, only for a £55 million price tag to put paid to any hopes Mourinho had of finally linking up with the former Sampdoria star.
And, speaking ahead of Inter’s do-or-die Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk, Skriniar didn’t exactly sound like a man pushing for a January move.

“The dream? To win with Inter and make the many fans who support us every day happy,” the 25-year-old explains.
Skriniar fell out of favour under Conte last season and spent the entire Europa League final against Sevilla on the bench.
But the commanding centre-back has forced his way back into Inter’s starting XI this term, thanks largely to the departure of Diego Godin in the summer.
