Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent has confirmed that the rumoured Arsenal and Tottenham target will now stay at Lazio this summer despite strong interest from the Premier League duo this window.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the Serbian’s agent, Mateja Kezman, confirmed that the Serie A star will remain in Rome this summer, with the midfielder’s representative saying: “The decision has been made, Sergej will stay at Lazio unless a miracle happens in the final few days of the window.”
Milinkovic-Savic has long been linked with a move to the Premier League with this year seeing the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly chase the 27-year-old superstar, with Lazio placing a reported £70m price tag on the Serbian international’s head for this year.
However, like all previous summers, Milinkovic-Savic will once again not be leaving the Italian capital despite Lazio this year weighing up the prospect of offloading the midfielder in order to fund Maurizio Sarri’s spending spree, yet no such move was made with the Spanish-born star remaining in Rome.
The news from Milinkovic-Savic’s agent will come as a huge blow for Arsenal and Tottenham, with the Serbian a player will into his prime and more than ready to take his incredible talents to the Premier League, with the former Genk talent arguably one of the most complete midfielders in world football.
Strong in the tackle with a killer eye for a pass and for goal, Milinkovic-Savic staying at Lazio is a huge boost for the Serie A side who this season could make waves in the division with their star player remaining for yet another year, much to the dismay of both Arsenal and Tottenham, who could have made a statement with the 27-year-old.
Milinkovic-Savic staying with Lazio is a surprising move

Milinkovic-Savic has toyed with leaving Lazio for some time, and with the midfielder the best he has ever been, remaining in Italy for another year seems like a surprising decision, especially with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham both chasing the Serie A superstar.
After all, now felt like the perfect window for Milinkovic-Savic to call time on a sensational spell with Lazio, yet the midfielder’s choice to remain for one more year will come as a shock to many, and now doubt could be poured on whether the Serbian will even leave Rome for the years to come.
