The West Ham United player continues to struggle despite having his moments.

Simone Zaza may have only recently joined West Ham United but you would struggle to find a member of their first-team squad who has generated anywhere near the same amount of debate in recent times.
The problem is, the debate is somewhat contradictory, with those bemoaning his lack of goals also praising his work rate, while those who suggest he is the proverbial headless chicken happy to acknowledge that sometimes that technique works wonders.

It certainly did on Saturday, when Simone’s hard work played a massive role in West Ham’s 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace. That said he still did not look like he could hit a barn door with a banjo!
What a strange player Zaza is; a forward who just needs one to go in off his backside but one who equally could be deemed the best worst striker West Ham have had in many a year.

The debate will rage on, probably long after Zaza has netted his first goal for the club, because let’s face it, he is not going to be the prolific striker Hammers fans were crying out for, and the only way he is going to make a long-term impact is if he plays alongside someone who can truly benefit from his tenacity and passion.
