Nottingham Forest’s Hildeberto Pereira is quickly turning into one of the most fascinating Championship players in recent times.

The Portuguese defender, who looks about 35 as opposed to his actual age of 20, has certainly made a name for himself since arriving at the County Ground. The ever inconsistent youngster always pops up with some kind of rash challenge or odd statement in the media, leaving the public to try and work this guy out.

With the season having not even reached January, Pereira has already racked up three yellow cards and three red cards in the Championship. Those numbers, as staggering as they are, mean nothing without the context behind them.

In recent weeks the right back has made comments suggesting that he feels players do not defend like they used to, which is a bizarre statement to make given his young age.

That sounds more like something Roy Keane would say in an old school rant, and yet Pereira does not even seem to understand why people are so fascinated by him.

There is no doubting the youngster’s obvious ability on the pitch, but if he cannot control this clumsy anger of his then his status at the club could soon be in jeopardy.
