Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in fury after the club posted a very, very cheeky tweet on the 100th anniversary of the cockerel crest.
Today marks a century since Spurs first wore a cockerel on their shirts.
Tottenham’s announcement also revealed that special content on the anniversary will be released over the next few weeks, including merchandise for fans to buy.
However, the supporters weren’t really focused on that.
Instead, fans were livid that the club had the cheek to celebrate this occasion just days after they announced they were joining the Super League.
Joining the Super League would’ve seen all of this history vanish, as Tottenham planned to move into a division with no competitive aspect whatsoever.

It was purely a project born from greed, devised to make money.
The supporters have every right to be angry, and hit back at the club’s tweet which was posted at the worst possible time.
Daniel Levy really does have some nerve on him, asking fans to buy more stuff after what has recently happened.

For those interested in the details, Tottenham’s shirt for the 2021/22 campaign will feature the original cockerel design.
It will be worn on the final day of the current campaign against Aston Villa.
For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the club’s cheeky tweet…
