Tyrone Mings has stated on Twitter that Cameron Archer is ‘on fire’ after he struck a hat-trick during Aston Villa U21’s 4-2 win over Burton Albion in the Papa Johns Trophy.

The 19-year-old, who is part of Villa’s first-team squad, ran riot for the youngsters last night.

Even though the Midlands outfit were 2-0 down, they held their cool and allowed their natural talent to flow and then produced the fightback.

Mings, who is currently on England duty, posted this message to Villa’s rising teen.

Archer is now proving that he is too hot to handle in the younger age groups and more minutes with the first-team might come his way.

It has been a remarkable rise for the boyhood Villa fan, who was on-loan at Solihull last season, and is now mixing it up with the big boys.

Dean Smith does play two up top, so that increases Archer’s chances of earning those minutes.

But whilst Villa fans will be eager to see more of him, this is where he needs to be managed and the hype around him needs to dampen down.

If Archer can continue to showcase his talents then, just like a number of academy players, such as Jacob Ramsey, they will save Villa millions and millions because they won’t have to dip into the market.

But, at this moment in time, everyone associated with Villa will just sit back and enjoy their young guns shining bright.
