Roy Keane has stated that ‘the biggest worry’ after England’s thumping 6-2 win over Iran at the 2022 FIFA World Cup was the potential knock to Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.
Even though England hit Iran for six, remarkably enough, their star man didn’t get on the scoresheet and Keane shared on ITV Sport (22/11/22 at 9:05 am) how Kane seemed to suffer a ‘bad knock’ during the game.
This is just the opening game and the last thing Gareth Southgate will want is for his top player to be paying a visit to the treatment room.
As Kane proved yesterday, even though he didn’t score, he was still one of the best players on the pitch and at the heart of near-on everything England do when going forward.
But Keane expressed his worry for the player on Tuesday morning, as fans dissect what the Three Lions produced to open their account for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“The biggest worry is that Kane looked (like) he got a bad knock and that will be Gareth Southgate’s biggest worry,” said Keane.
“You don’t want injures, especially early in the tournament, particularly to your star players, so that will be his biggest concern.”
