Newcastle United fans will be excited to hear that Anthony Gordon is looking to add more goals to his game as he prepares to join the club.

Speaking on NUFC Matters, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Gordon, who has scored just three goals this season for Everton, is determined to take his game to the next level and become a more prolific goalscorer.

This news will be music to the ears of Newcastle fans, who have seen their team struggle for goals as of late with a string of 0-0 draws and 1-0 wins.

Eddie Howe does have a knack of getting the best out of his attackers too, with the likes of Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson finding their shooting boots.

Gordon wants more goals

“A forward is such a broad term, and as a consequence, when you’re looking to add goals to your game, and I understand that is the big thing with Anthony Gordon what he wants to become is a more regular goalscorer, and whatever position he’s used in either as a starter or a squad player, he wants goals,” Jacobs said.

Needs to improve

Gordon is a highly-rated young attacker with bags of potential, but he has often shown to be lacking that killer instinct in front of goal. However, at just 21 years of age, he has plenty of time to improve and develop his game.

The £40m signing from Everton will be joining a Newcastle side that are in the midst of a Champions League push, and he will hope to score some important goals to help the team secure their top four status.

Say what you will about how prolific Gordon is, he did pop up with some vital goals last term to keep Everton up, and Newcastle will be hoping he can do the same again to fire them into Europe.

It’s clear that Gordon has the talent to succeed at Newcastle United and if he can add more goals to his game, he could become a vital player for the Magpies. With the guidance of Howe and his coaching staff, Gordon could become a key player for Newcastle United in the future.
