Manchester United attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes has raved about reported Arsenal target Jesse Lingard on the club’s official website.
Fernandes believes that over the last 10 games, Lingard, on loan at West Ham United from the Red Devils at the moment, has been the best player in the Premier League.
The Sun reported last month that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to bring the England international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
The report added that Arsenal are planning to make a bid for Lingard, who earns £110,000 per week as salary.
West Ham manager David Moyes wants to make Lingard’s loan deal permanent, according to the report.
Fernandes told United’s official website: “If you see Jesse, I think Jesse, at the moment, if you watch the last 10 games, has been top, top, top level.
“For me, if you watch the last 10 games, he’s been the best player in the Premier League, scoring and assists in every game. Everyone here is really, really happy for him. He has confidence back, he has his swag back, because he is feeling confident. We are really, really happy for what he’s doing.”
Lingard has been absolutely superb for West Ham since moving to the London club on loan from United in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 13 Premier League games and has been a big figure in the Hammers’ quest to finish in the top four.
While Arsenal are well stocked in attacking midfield, Lingard’s current form and extensive experience in the Premier League suggest that he would be a smart signing for the Gunners and would make an immediate impact.
Wingers Willian and Nicolas Pepe have not exactly been great for the Gunners, who could also have a space open up in attacking midfielder should Martin Odegaard not extend his loan spell from Real Madrid beyond the end of the season.
The question is whether United would let Lingard go. Another factor to consider is whether Arsenal would be able to afford the transfer fee that the Red Devils would ask.
Arsenal are not going to be in the Champions League next season, which is another factor to consider.
