West Bromwich Albion midfielder Romaine Sawyers has responded to West Ham United star Said Benrahma’s post on Instagram following the match against Liverpool.

Benrahma, who joined West Ham on loan from Brentford in the summer transfer window, has expressed his disappointment on Instagram at the Hammers’ defeat to Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The 25-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a forward, did not start the match, but the Algeria international came on as a substitute in the 89th minute.

The winger is pleased to have made his Premier League debut for West Ham, and although he is disappointed with the final result, he believes that the team will come back stronger against Fulham.

Sawyers played with Benrahma at Brentford, and the West Brom midfielder has responded to his message on Instagram.

Sawyers responded: “The best ❤️”

Meanwhile, West Ham manager David Moyes has given his take on the performance of striker Sebastien Haller against Liverpool, and Aaron Cresswell has commented on the penalty incident.

Mohamed Salah was adjudged to have been brought down by West Ham left-back Arthur Masuaku in the closing stages of the first half.

Moyes said, as quoted on BBC Sport (20:12): “I think Sebastien has got a lot to offer us. Hopefully he’ll show that in the weeks to come.”

Cresswell said, as quoted on BBC Sport (19:41): “It looked soft, but VAR’s there for a reason and I’m sure it was the right decision.”
