Vicente Guaita told Sky Sports during their live coverage of Tottenham’s draw at Crystal Palace that Harry Kane is ‘the best’ striker in the Premier League.
It was a pretty eventful afternoon for Palace’s man between the sticks, who was at fault for Tottenham’s opener in the first half before he turned into the hero after the break.
When Kane and Heung-Min Son linked up for the one-millionth time this season, many would have backed Jose Mourinho’s previously strong and stubborn defence to keep the doors locked.
But Hugo Lloris left the door ajar and Tottenham were punished.
From letting Kane’s pretty simple long-range effort slip through him to saving a near-on perfect Eric Dier free-kick, Guaita shared his thoughts on a pretty dramatic afternoon for himself.
“The ball is moving [on Kane’s goal],” said Guaita. “I think it’s with my right, it changed the side. It’s difficult.
On whether it was a difficult shot to save: “I think if [Kane] repeats [the shot] then I maybe save it. But he’s a good player. I think he’s the best striker in the Premier League.
“Today, I didn’t save it. But maybe next week I save it.”

Not many strikers in the Premier League could match Kane for the main crown and it could be argued that the Englishman is the best in Europe.
In the Premier League itself, other top performing players in his position are the likes of Jamie Vardy, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Danny Ings – but Kane is ahead of them on the international stage, never mind on the domestic scene.
Either way, Kane is turning into the complete player and if he carries on in his ways then he will hit 20+ goals and assists, which is a feat not many achieve.
