Speaking on Liverpool’s YouTube channel, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been discussing Sadio Mane’s aerial ability with Diogo Jota.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jota were tasked with commentating on Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Arsenal earlier this season, a game in which Mane opened the scoring with a header.

Understandably, Oxlade-Chamberlain had plenty of praise for Mane’s aerial ability after rewatching his goal against the Gunners, and he claimed that he’s the best in the air out of any of Liverpool’s front four.

What’s Oxlade-Chamberlain said about Mane?

The midfielder praised the winger’s aerial ability.

“He’s probably the best header of the ball out of the front three now. The front four even, you’ve joined the party,” Oxlade-Chamberlain said to Jota.

“I think he’s good especially in these situations, but it depends on the situation. Yes (he is) probably, but it’s tight, I’ll say it’s tight,” Jota replied.

Better than Jota?

Mane is undoubtedly brilliant in the air. He times his moves brilliantly and has a fantastic spring on him.

However, there is an argument to be made that Jota is better than him with his head.

Jota has received plenty of praise this season for his aerial ability, while he’s been scoring goals for fun with his head.

Even in the game against Arsenal that the pair were watching, Jota used his head to craft out one of the goals.

Liverpool’s attackers may not be blessed with the most height – Mane stands at just 5 ft 9, but that doesn’t stop them from being brilliant when it comes to heading the ball.
