Players from Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest made the top five.

The results from HITC Sport’s poll looking for the best signing made by a Championship club are in. But who did you vote into the top five?

Huddersfield vs Leeds United: Fan prediction poll

5. Jordan Rhodes (10%)

Sheffield Wednesday’s marquee acquisition of the window claimed 10% of the vote, and thus, takes fifth spot in our poll. The 26-year-old has already provided an early warning to the Owls’ play-off rivals that he is ready to make a key contribution, having contributed the assist for Wednesday’s winner over Wigan on Friday night.

4. Ross McCormack (11%)

Ross McCormack’s loan move from Aston Villa to Nottingham Forest was perhaps one of the more intriguing deals of the January window. He struggled during his time with the Villans, but Forest supporters appear to be optimistic about what he may go on to prove at the City Ground. At his best, he is certainly one of the most lethal finishers in the second tier.

3. Alfonso Pedraza (13%)

Another player yet to make his debut for his new club is Alfonso Pedraza, who has joined Leeds United from Villarreal. He may get his chance against Huddersfield on Sunday, and a match-winning impact against their play-off rivals may see more of the 87% who did not vote for him back him for success. The fact that he could join permanently for £8.5 million should the Whites go up (via Sky Sports) certainly suggests that they are hopeful that he could make a massive impression at Elland Road.

2. Pablo Hernandez (17%)

Narrowly missing out on top spot is Pedraza’s countryman and new teammate Pablo Hernandez. The playmaker was hugely impressive during his loan spell with the Whites so, unsurprisingly, the news of his permanent arrival was met with an extremely positive reaction. The attacking midfielder has brought that touch of quality that has made Garry Monk’s men one of the favourites for the play-offs.

Leeds predicted lineup v Huddersfield: New signing to start?

1. Zach Clough (19%)

According to HITC Sport readers, Nottingham Forest’s acquisition of Zach Clough was the best piece of business done by a Championship club in January when it comes to incomings. The youngster was one of the most highly-rated strikers in the Football League during his time with Bolton, and Forest supporters are understandably excited about his potential. He enjoyed a bright debut in the win over Villa, and surely the goals will soon be flowing.
