Tony Adams told Stadium Astro that Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, has ‘similarities’ to Dutch legend, Marco van Basten.
The Tottenham man netted a brace for England on Saturday as they beat Ukraine 4-0 in the quarter-finals of Euro 2020.
In the second half, Kane nearly produced a Van Basten-like moment when his vicious volley, from outside of the area and with his so-called weaker foot, was tipped over the bar.
But Arsenal legend, Adams, who came up against Van Basten during his playing days, had this to say about the 3-time Ballon d’Or winner and the Spurs man.
“Van Basten, the best player I ever played against,” said Adams. “He was an incredible number nine.
“I don’t put Harry up there just yet with Van Basten but there are similarities. I think Van Basten was a little bit quicker.
“But certainly Harry’s got technical ability and he has had good control. He can hold up the ball. He gets in the box. Good awareness. Pulls off strikers.”

Well, Kane has a long way to go before he matches Van Basten’s career even though the left-footed technician had to retire early.
Winning Euro 2020 would be a start and would signal the first trophy in Kane’s career.
From an individual standpoint, Kane has broken many records and is continuing to do so, but it’s that major trophy that’s eluding his career, thus far.
However, with the Three Lions only two wins away from ending over 50 years of hurt, there is no better time to end that drought for all involved.
