One of the other great things about Rangers this season has been the emergence of Nathan Patterson.
Rangers have already won the Scottish Premiership and could do the double by going all the way in the Scottish Cup.
But some fans of the Ibrox club will also be delighted to see a young talent like Patterson come through the ranks.
The 19-year-old has established himself as a real star of the future by how well he has deputised for James Tavernier, who’s been out since February with a knee injury.
With Tavernier scoring 18 goals from right-back, he has arguably been the light Blues’ Player of the Year and therefore leaving young Patterson with big boots to fill but, so far, the Scotland Under-21 international hasn’t looked fazed and has managed 13 games under Steven Gerrard in recent months.
And Gerrard’s assistant Gary McAllister has described him as an ‘outstanding’ talent.
McAllister said to The Scottish Sun before tonight’s clash with St Johnstone: “The beauty is that we’ve got an outstanding youngster and a player whose numbers are probably among the best in the world from that area of the pitch.”
