Leeds United fans hope that there will finally be confirmation Marcelo Bielsa will take over as manager today.
This has unfortunately been the same case for the past week, with ‘advanced talks’ turning into a lengthy saga.
If Leeds do appoint Bielsa today (Friday 15 June) it will be a remarkable coincidence.
This is because it was on June 15 in 2017 that Leeds announced the appointment of Thomas Christiansen.
Andrea Radrizzani signalled the appointment by posting a message on Twitter promising good news for supporters.
Leeds fans need him to do the same today to signal Bielsa signing the contract.
What was astonishing a year ago was that when Radrizzani sent that message, nobody had a clue who they were seeking to appoint, with Thomas Christiansen’s name being leaked only minutes before the official announcement was made.
This time the direction is clear, and if Bielsa does take the job, the hope is that he lasts a lot longer that Christiansen could hold up.
