Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein could end up playing at Euro 2024 despite suffering a dismal qualifying campaign with Estonia.

We made it – the final international break of 2023 is over and Premier League action will take centre stage once again.

Arsenal will be looking to continue their push for the Premier League title, with key players focused on that rather than Euro 2024.

The Gunners will have plenty of players eyeing up playing in the European Championships next summer – and one surprise name could be involved.

Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein could feature at Euro 2024

One look at the Euro 2024 qualifying tables and you will see Estonia endured a truly miserable campaign.

Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Sweden means Estonia have finished bottom of Group F with just one point from eight games.

No wins, one draw, seven defeats, two goals scored an 22 goals conceded; Estonia were truly terrible.

Arsenal stopper Karl Hein has been Estonia’s first-choice goalkeeper throughout qualifying, playing more for his country than for his club.

You would think that Hein and co weren’t even thinking about Euro 2024 now, but Estonia remarkably still have a chance to reach Germany next summer.

Estonia hammered both Malta and San Marino twice in the UEFA Nations League and have therefore been given a route to the playoff round.

That means Estonia will take on Poland in the semi-finals of Path A, given them a glimmer of hope in terms of qualifying for Euro 2024.

Nobody is expecting Estonia to beat Poland; especially after just one point in eight games in qualifying.

Facing Robert Lewandowski and co will not be easy for a struggling Estonia side, so few will back them to go through.

You just never know though, and Hein will be looking to spring a major shock by ending teammate Jakub Kiwior’s Euro 2024 dreams.
