Tottenham fear striker Harry Kane will miss up to eight weeks of action, according to The Guardian.
Spurs are officially setting no time frame on the striker’s return, but it is feared he has suffered ankle ligament damage, with the foot still badly swollen, preventing an accurate scan.
An eight week spell on the sidelines would mean Kane stands to miss 10 matches, potentially more if Spurs qualify for the EFL Cup fourth round.
England’s Harry Kane scores
As it stands he misses tonight’s cup fixture, plus three of the five remaining Champions League matches.
These are against CSKA Moscow (A) – September 27, Bayer Leverkusen (A) – October 18 and Bayer Leverkusen (H) – November 2.
Kane would also miss six Premier League matches starting with the tricky away trip to Middlesbrough next weekend.
This would be followed by, in chronological order, Manchester City (H), West Bromwich Albion (A), Bournemouth (A), Leicester (H).

There is an England game in between too which he would miss, as well as the crucial North London derby at The Emirates on November 6.
Kane is due back after that, and with The Guardian estimating it could be ‘six to eight weeks’, this would potentially provide a window for the striker to return for the fixture.
If not, there is an international break right afterwards and Kane could focus on attempting to get back for another big match, the clash at home to West Ham on November 19.
