With the transfer window fast approaching, who will Arsenal sign next month?

We have read and reported the transfer rumours, and come up with a list of 10 players the Gunners are most likely to sign, and Nani is not included…

Klaas Jan-Huntelaar

Dutch striker Huntelaar tops the list, his potential switch to Arsenal is gaining momentum. The attacker is available for between £5 million and £10 million as he is out of contract next summer, and there have even been reports an agreement is already in place. Stepping into the shoes of Dutch rival van Persie would hold no fear for Huntelaar, who scored 48 goals last season and has netted twice already against Arsenal for Schalke this season in the Champions League.

Wilfried Zaha

Arsenal fan Wilfried Zaha has emerged as one of the hottest properties in English football, and received an international cap for his efforts last month. Crystal Palace are in the midst of a promotion push and will be reluctant to sell, but an offer similar to the one which convinced Southampton to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should do the trick. Manchester United and Tottenham will rival the Gunners for his signature.

Etienne Capoue

French midfielder Capoue has emerged as a top target for Arsenal after Arsene Wenger went quiet on Yann M’Vila, who does not feature on this list. He would cost around £12 million and is impressing for Toulouse this season. Barcelona were credited with an interest in him over the summer and he could just be a solution in a problem for the Gunners’ holding midfield role.

Moussa Sissoko

Another option for Arsenal is Capoue’s teammate Moussa Sissoko, who would be more of a replacement for Abou Diaby, if the rumours that Wenger has given up on the Frenchman is true. Sissoko is a France international and more dynamic player than Capoue, although has been strongly linked with Newcastle United.

Igor Denisov

Russian international captain Igor Denisov has become an outcast at Zenit after he complained at the arrival of Witsel and Hulk in September. The midfielder has been regularly linked with the Gunners, with the latest report from Russia suggesting Zenit and Arsenal could do a deal which sees Andrei Arshavin go the other way in part-exchange.

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa

If Arsenal decide to go in for a defender, than Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is likely to be their top target. The Frenchman is versatile and can play anywhere across the backline, and is a former teammate of Giroud. He recently signed a new contract at Montepellier, but this was more to ensure his club receive a fair price if he decides to leave, and he has commented that he would be open to a switch to the Gunners.

Fernando Llorente

If Huntelaar does not sign, then Arsenal will do well to pursue Fernando Llorente. The Spanish striker, like Huntelaar is out of contract in the summer, and while he currently says that is when he expects to leave Bilbao, if Arsenal were to offer £10 million his club would have to think about it. The international would be an excellent signing for the club, and proof of their ambition to compete at the top, still able to attract Europe’s best.

Demba Ba

Another striking option for Arsenal is Newcastle forward Demba Ba. The key factors in this deal are his release clause, just £7.5 million, and his keenness to play for the Gunners, just 24 hours ago he described them as a ‘dream club.’ It makes sense for Arsenal to make a move for a player proven in the Premier League, and he will not play at the AFCON after Senegal failed to qualify.

Lewis Holtby

German prospect Lewis Holtby is busy impressing at Schalke, and like Huntelaar may make a switch to the Emirates. The boyhood Everton fan has spoken of his aim to play in the Premier League, and is rated at £10 million. Dubbed the next ‘Owen Hargreaves’, the tenacious midfielder will not shy from the challenge at the Emirates.

Stoppila Sunzu

Zambian international defender Stoppila Sunzu has claimed he is in contact with Arsenal over a transfer, and has even spoken to Arsene Wenger personally. He would be a cut-price addition, but aged just 23 he is already famous for scoring the winning penalty for Zambia in last year’s AFCON final shootout over the Ivory Coast.
