Paul Merson has responded to Jack Grealish’s post on Instagram, and has praised the Aston Villa star for his performance for England last night.
The former Villa star – who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports – was impressed with the display produced by Grealish during the Three Lions’ 3-0 win against Wales at Wembley Stadium in London in the friendly international on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, was superb for Gareth Southgate’s side on his full debut for the Three Lions.
The Villa star set up the goal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin with a brilliant cross and was lively throughout his time on the pitch.
According to WhoScored, Grealish played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 87.9%, took 46 touches, attempted one dribble, made one tackle and one clearance, and put in two crosses.
So far this season, the attacker has scored three goals and provided three assists in three Premier League games for Villa, according to WhoScored.
If Grealish maintains his form in the coming months, then he is certain to be in the England squad for the European Championship next summer.
Merson responded: “That’s why you should be in the the England team all the time ….game going nowhere Wales the better team than a bit of magic by you and game over …well played yesterday your a game changer.”
