
Troy Deeney has said on Sky Sports Premier League (1:45pm, May 9, 2021) that Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins is a more natural finisher than Leeds United ace Patrick Bamford.
The Watford striker has said that the reason why England manager Gareth Southgate has picked Watkins ahead of Bamford is because he is a more natural finisher.
Deeney made the comments while analysing Watkins ahead of the Premier League game between Villa and Manchester United at Villa Park this afternoon.
The Watford star said on Sky Sports Premier League (1:45pm, May 9, 2021): “I think he (Watkins) is a more natural finisher than Patrick Bamford. I think that’s why he gets the nod.”

Watkins and Bamford are having a wonderful season in the Premier League and are big players for Villa and Leeds respectively.

The 25-year-old Villa striker has scored 13 goals and provide four assists in 33 Premier League games this season and also found the back of his net on his England debut.
Bamford – who cost Leeds £7 million in transfer fees the they signed him from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018, as reported by Sky Sports – has found the back of the net 15 times in the league this season and has also given seven assists.
According to BBC Sport, Bamford has a goal conversion rate of 18% and a shot conversion rate of 51%, while Watkins has a goal conversion rate of 20% and a shot conversion rate of 62%.
