Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching Dominik Szoboszlai appear for RB Salzburg against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Hungary international unfortunately lost 3-1 to the Bundesliga champions on Wednesday evening, while also blasting a golden chance to open the scoring over the bar.
Why were Arsenal fans watching the 20-year-old? Well, as reported by the Mirror, the Gunners are interested in signing the attacking midfielder.
The Mirror state that he has a £23 million release clause in his contract.
Despite his miss, and the quality of the opposition, Szoboszlai did well.
SofaScore shows that the Hungarian made two key passes, with one creating a ‘big chance’ against Hansi Flick’s men.
Additionally, Szoboszlai won three ground duels and one freekick, while also completing one cross.
The prodigious talent did, however, lose possession on 16 occasions. Having said that, players who put the ball at risk and try to create things such as the RB Salzburg prospect does will often lose the ball.
Arsenal fans presumably won’t be too happy about his miss, in which he almost fired the ball out of the Allianz Arena with only Manuel Neuer to beat.
However, that blunder should be offset by his incredible form so far this season. The Gunners target has scored five goals and assisted nine more in 15 appearances this season.
