Paul Pogba has taken a swipe at Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho over his comments after losing to Manchester United last weekend.
Tottenham’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League suffered a big blow by losing 3-1 to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in North London last Sunday.
After the game, Mourinho made headlines for criticising his opposite number and walking out of a press conference.
Solskjaer had spoken post-match about Son Heung-min’s perceived theatrics during the game and without being asked about it by the media at the press conference, the former United boss launched into a tirade about his Norwegian counterpart’s comments.
And Pogba, who had a falling out with the Tottenham boss during his time at Old Trafford, has claimed that Sunday’s stunt was ‘ very Mourinho’.
The France international, who re-joined United in an £89 million deal five years ago, told Sky Sports: “I don’t know what happened. I’m sure Mourinho said something that will make people speak. That’s what he does. But we got the result we wanted. Ole knows it and we enjoyed that moment [the win]. We know how Mourinho is and we know what he likes.
“We don’t need this. He lost the game and he doesn’t want to speak about the game – he wants to speak about the dad of someone. That’s what he does. Everyone knows him. It’s very Mourinho.”
If Tottenham lose away to Everton tonight, Mourinho’s side, who are seventh in the Premier League table, could be nine points adrift of the Champions League places if West Ham beat Newcastle at St James’s Park on Saturday.
