Troy Deeney has suggested that Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin is more of a goal threat than Michail Antonio at West Ham United due to his movement.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Deeney suggested that Calvert-Lewin shows he is a natural in the centre forward position, while it is obvious that Antonio has learnt to play there more recently.
The Everton man scored the only goal of the game yesterday, as they beat West Ham 1-0.
And Deeney said: “That’s the difference between him and Antonio. They both work hard but because he’s a natural striker he’s staying in between the 18 yard box all the time, whereas Antonio was drifting out to the right and left.
“That’s the difference for people who are watching between someone who is a proper striker and one who has had to learn their way to be a striker, like Antonio.”
Calvert-Lewin certainly took his goal like a natural striker, after producing a fine finish beyond Lukas Fabiasnki.

The Everton forward span off Craig Dawson in the West Ham defence, before tucking the ball home at the far post.
Antonio, meanwhile, never really was able to forge an opening against Everton’s tightly packed defence.
Calvert-Lewin now has 16 goals for the season, while Antonio has nine – but the West Ham man did miss a chunk of the campaign through injury.
West Ham’s defeat yesterday seriously harms their chances of breaking into the top four this season, but it boosts Everton’s European hopes.
