Gary Neville has shared on Instagram that ‘I put my earphones on’ and ‘switch off’ when Liverpool fans start singing ‘You will never walk alone’ inside Anfield.

It’s a tradition for Liverpool fans to sing YNWA before the start of the game and it has become synonymous with the club for decades.

On Sunday, Liverpool would have done just that before they hosted Manchester City in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

It must be some experience for the Manchester United legend to sit around the Liverpool fans, whilst he is doing commentary duty for Sky.

But Neville hilariously shared what he does when Liverpool supporters are in full voice before a game.

“That’s the Kop end there,” said Neville. “They’ll be singing ‘You will never walk alone’.

“That’s the bit where I put my earphones on and switch off for about five minutes and let them have a go at it.

“Then let Martin (Tyler) sort of (do his thing).”

Even with his Man United hat on, Neville would have enjoyed the spectacle that was put on from two of England’s recent champions at the weekend.

Whilst Pep Guardiola’s side dominated proceedings in the first half, the home team showed all their might in the second.

It may have finished even, in the end, but Mo Salah’s moment of pure brilliance was the standout, as he proved why he is one of the top players in the world, right now.

And whilst Liverpool don’t have the squad depth, if they can keep their key players fit and firing then there’s no reason why they can’t win the Premier League title.

At the end of the day, they finished third last season when everything was seemingly going against them.
