Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after Football London reported on Tim Akinola’s incredible pace.
Akinola has clocked the fastest top-speed in the U23s, a lightning-fast 10.4 meters per second.
That metric is hard to compute, but put it this way, if he kept that speed up over 100m, he would clock a time of 9.61 seconds, which would be an Olympic record.
Of course, top-speed and 100m times aren’t the same thing, but that is just a sign of how quick the 20-year-old is.
As you can imagine, Arsenal fans were blown away after hearing this stat.
The Gunners have been blessed with some absolutely rapid players over the years. The likes of Hector Bellerin, Thierry Henry and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are amongst the speediest players the Premier League has ever seen, but it seems as though Akinola could be the fastest of the bunch.
