Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports how he believes that Arsenal’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was deployed in completely the wrong position against West Ham United.
Aubameyang started out wide right for Arsenal, and he struggled to get involved.
West Ham were quickly 2-0 up against the Gunners, before Mikel Arteta realised that he would have to change things.
Arteta then switched Aubameyang back to his more familiar left-sided position.
But Redknapp says that the rapid striker doesn’t like playing down the right-hand side, and he was shocked with Arteta’s decision at the start.
He said: “Aubameyang on the right as well. What’s he playing on the right for? Play him on the left, play on the left and he looks better!
“He doesn’t like playing on the right, that’s obvious. Then they go 2-0 down, and he puts him on the left, but he should never have started there. I’m surprised Arteta even did it.”
Even after switching back to the right, Aubameyang was fairly quiet for Arsenal.

The Gunners front-man was arguably the least effective of Arsenal’s attacking players, and question marks still persist over his form.
Aubameyang has been Arsenal’s main goalscorer for a number of seasons, but his performance levels have badly dipped this term.
And unless he starts to improve in the coming weeks, his place in the team could come under threat from the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli.
