Tottenham Hotspur fans are divided in their reaction to rumours that they are more likely to sign Luis Diaz than Adama Traore from Wolves, as Alasdair Gold spoke on his YouTube channel.
For most of the January transfer window, Spurs have been touted to bring Traore to the club from European-chasing Wolves.
Whilst, over the past week or so, Porto flyer, Diaz, has also seen his name pop up on the north London transfer radar.
That news, initially, uplifted the Spurs fans, but they are now getting a sense of false hope with Football London reporter, Gold, claiming that the club are ‘more hopeful’ of Diaz coming through their doors than the all-action, Traore.
For some, it signals that there will be some business done this month, which would be good news for Spurs and their manager, Antonio Conte.
Whilst others think that it might just end up in them bringing neither player into the club, which would be a disaster and a worry for the man on the touchline.
As some Spurs fans have mentioned, why can’t those in the boardroom get both deals done because that would really change the mood around Hotspur Way.
Losing on three occasions to your London rivals within the space of a month can derail the confidence of the most positive of people.
And whilst Spurs fans want the results to surge them towards a Champions League finish in May, they will really help their own cause if they get the men that Conte wants by Monday’s deadline.
If they don’t, then it’s understandable why sections of the fanbase are slightly pessimistic at the noise coming out about Traore and Diaz.
