Speaking on the All To Play For Podcast, Joe Cole has reacted after hearing that Angelo Ogbonna is back in West Ham training.

The Italian has been out of action for over two months with an ankle problem, but it was confirmed earlier this week that he’s back in training, and Cole believes that is a big boost for the Hammers.

“I think Lingard is going to be very important, he’s 28 now, he’s an experienced player coming into it. He needs to keep performing to the level he has,” Cole said when discussing West Ham’s run-in.

“It’s going to be about how quickly they can get Declan back, how quick, I don’t know when Ogbonna, I’ve not seen when he’s back.

“He’s back training Ogbonna now,” Cole’s co-host informed him.

“He’s back training? That’s massive,’ Cole concluded.

Ogbonna’s return could be exactly what West Ham need to step up that one final gear.

The London club have done so well to put themselves in this position with just over a month of the season to go, but the hard work starts now.

West Ham will be tested mentally and physically like they never have been before, and having a former Juventus player and Italy international back fit will be a huge boost for the final weeks of the campaign.
