Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris claimed that Kylian Mbappe is ‘focused’ despite missing out on a deadline day move to Real Madrid, as he told Sky Sports.

In one of the craziest transfer windows of them all, deadline day didn’t disappoint, as Madrid submitted a late £197 million bid to Paris Saint Germain for their star forward, according to Sky Sports.

But there was no response from the Ligue 1 club and it now means that one of the world’s best players could, and most likely, will leave Paris on a free transfer next summer.

Lloris works with one of the best forwards in the game at Tottenham in Harry Kane, and there was a lot of drama about his future this summer too.

But the goalkeeper also has the luxury of playing alongside Mbappe on the national stage and this is what he had to say about his fellow countryman.

“As you can see the last game with Paris, he is fairly focused,” said Lloris. “And he was decisive in the first four games for Paris.

“That means that he respects a lot his job, his profession, he is focused on every single day and he is ready to perform. That’s it.

“What’s going on between him, his club and Real Madrid, he doesn’t belong to us because he belongs to himself.

“We could see the first two days of the national team that he is here, with a smile and ready to help the team. Ready to fight and enjoy playing for the national team.”

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with Mbappe next summer and whether he ends up at his boyhood club in Madrid or not.

Unless he pens down a new contract, he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January.

But would an English club dare try to lure him towards their direction ahead of Madrid?

Chelsea have Romelu Lukaku and Manchester United have re-signed Cristiano Ronaldo, so they should be ruled out.

But could Manchester City or Liverpool try to sign him? Spurs fans will be hoping those from the Etihad certainly do because it will then mean that they stay well clear of Kane.
