Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in fury after the club announced that Paulo Gazzaniga had left north London to join Elche on loan.
The 29-year-old was, clearly, surplus to requirements under Jose Mourinho, and has been shipped off to La Liga.
Spurs have Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart to fight it out for the shirt, while Alfie Whiteman is a promising prospect in that position.
However, two fans below seem to think that the 1-cap Argentina international is better than the 75-cap England international.
In truth, the ex-Southampton man was always solid when deputising for Lloris, so it seems strange to watch him depart.

However, Tottenham do have an issue with the lack of homegrown players in their squad, so perhaps Gazzaniga’s departure is a way of working around that.
As Football London outlined in the summer, Mourinho’s chances of bringing in non-homegrown players was at threat.
If the ex-Chelsea boss wants to bring in any players who weren’t trained in England, he needs to trim his squad of European imports.

Perhaps that is why Gazzaniga has been allowed to leave, with a potential view to joining Elche permanently in the summer.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t change the fact that Tottenham fans are furious with the decision right now.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the Argentine’s exit…
