Speaking on the Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has shared what he knows about Tottenham Hotspur and Alessandro Bastoni.
Tottenham have been strongly linked with Bastoni over the past few weeks, and according to Romano, Spurs are very keen on the Italian defender.
The journalist states that Conte is the one pushing the deal behind the scenes, stating that the Italian is a massive fan of the player, sharing a tale of their time together at Inter to highlight just how much the gaffer trusts the centre-half.

Romano spoke about Bastoni and Conte.
“For sure, Tottenham are exploring this possibility, Alessandro Bastoni is a player that Conte loves, and let me say that if Tottenham want Bastoni it’s 90 per cent down to Antonio Conte. Let me remind you that Conte, with Inter, he said that he doesn’t trust Miranda, who was the captain of Brazil, and he wanted Bastoni to be a part of the team, so he came back from his loan deal, that’s how much Conte trusts him,” Romano said.
“Up until now, from what I’m told, Inter are still waiting to see an official proposal from Tottenham, so the two clubs as of today are not negotiating, Inter are still waiting.”
Dream signing
It sounds as though Bastoni is something of a dream signing for Antonio Conte this summer.
Conte is a tough manager to please, but it looks like he’s seen something in Bastoni during their time together at Inter that he likes, and, to be honest, it’s not hard to understand why.
The Italian played a key role in Inter winning Serie A in 2021, while he was also an important player in their run to the 2020 Europa League final. He’s proven that he can play in Conte’s system, and he would be a fantastic Ben Davies replacement at Spurs.
