Rangers got back to winning ways as they hammered Queen of the South 5-0 at Ibrox on Tuesday evening in the Scottish League Cup.
The Gers had endured a turbulent ten days, having lost 5-1 to Old Firm rivals Celtic, drawn 0-0 with Ross County, and then suspended Joey Barton for three weeks following a training ground bust-up with Andy Halliday.

Manager Mark Warburton has come under pressure of late, and he desperately needed a win as Rangers took on Queen of the South in the Scottish League Cup.
Not only did he get a win, but he got a thumping victory as Jason Holt and Andy Halliday both struck goals before Martyn Waghorn smashed a second half hat-trick.

Many players impressed for Rangers, with Waghorn stealing the headlines with this three-goal display – but midfielder Halliday unsurprisingly drew great praise from supporters after the game.
A boyhood Rangers fan, supporters have sided with Halliday in the row with Barton, and he was handed the captain’s armband against Queen of the South with Lee Wallace out of the side.

Halliday capped off his game with a goal, and visibly kissed the Rangers badge whilst celebrating – and fans raved about him after the final whistle.
Supporters took to Twitter to not only praise Halliday for his performance, but also comment on his passion for the club and work rate during the game, even suggesting that he showed Barton how a Rangers midfielder should play.
