Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley revealed there is a recall clause in Miguel Azeez’s loan move.
What’s the story?
Well, Edu negotiated a season-long loan deal with Pompey, which will see the 18-year-old spend the campaign at Fratton Park.
Cowley added that Portsmouth and Arsenal have a good relationship, and he isn’t worried about the prospect of a recall derailing the League One side’s season.
It’ll be the first taste of regular senior action in Azeez’s career, having spent most of his time in north London playing academy football.
Mikel Arteta did, however, hand the teenager seven minutes of action in last season’s 4-2 Europa League win over Dundalk.
There’s no denying that Azeez is a huge prospect.
He has already been likened to Barcelona playmaker Sergio Busquets, and makes the game look easy at youth level.
Arsenal were right to include Miguel Azeez clause

In our view, Edu has made a very, very smart decision here.
Despite spending more than any other Premier League side over the summer, Arsenal’s central midfield department looks quite light.
Arteta only has Granit Xhaka, Martin Ødegaard, Mohamed Elneny, Thomas Partey and Albert Sami Lokonga to choose from.
Emile Smith Rowe is another option, although he is often used further forward.

In that respect, the recall clause for Azeez might have to be used come January, depending on Arsenal’s injury situation.
Additionally, Elneny is expected to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt, so Arteta will be a man light.
Thankfully, the Gunners have an ace up their sleeve in Azeez, who could come in to help if the clause is activated.
