Celtic secured a huge win in the Scottish Premiership as Ange Postecoglou’s side claimed a 3-1 victory over Hibernian. Yet results elsewhere in the division could prove to be more important.
Whilst the Hoops claimed all three points at Easter Road, Celtic’s three main title contenders at this stage of the season in Rangers, Hearts and Dundee United all drew 1-1.
The SPL results and the win against Hibernian meant that Celtic climbed to second in the standings. Moreover, the Glasgow giants are now just two points off their cross-city rivals.
After 11 games of the league season, the top four are just separated by four points. Yet form is most certainly in Celtic’s favour following their impressive win against Hibernian.
With just two points supporting the two Glaswegian sides, the early race for the title is already one of the most exciting in some time. And Celtic will now doubt be looking to build on their win against Hibernian.
The Hoops next face off against Livingston, and another win for Postecoglou’s side could make a huge difference in setting the pace for the SPL title.
