‘Fact’: Some non-Arsenal fans think Arteta player better than Liverpool man after int’l display

A selection of supporters were impressed with Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney and the performance he put in during Scotland’s 1-0 defeat to Slovakia in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.

Tierney started the game in his natural position and the 2019 Arsenal summer signing thrived.

For both club and county, Tierney has previously been used in a back three, whether it’s for tactical reasons from Mikel Arteta or Liverpool’s Andy Robertson is playing ahead of him on the international stage.

Well, with Robertson out injured, the Arsenal man got a shot in his usual spot and he thrived out wide, especially from an attacking sense.

A selection of fans lauded the performance he put in on the night and pointed out that he is better in that position for his country than his counterpart, Robertson.

The Liverpool man is more proven, the Scotland captain and the senior guy, so it’s understandable that he’s the one who would be used at either left-back or left wing-back ahead of Tierney.

But in his absence, he made sure he reminded fans of his talents.

Now, those in North London will be hoping he can transform his international form onto the club stage because it’s much needed.

Arsenal’s defeat to Aston Villa last time out was a stark reminder of the job Mikel Arteta has on his hands and if he is to turn things around then players like Tierney need to produce for him.
