Arsenal fans have been left emotional after Gabriel Martinelli’s celebration, which appeared to be dedicated to the injured Bukayo Saka.
Saka and Martinelli have formed a great friendship at Arsenal, and have often embraced when on the pitch after either one has scored.
Unfortunately for the pair, they were unable to continue their trademark celebration when Martinelli hit Arsenal’s second goal against Sheffield United, as Saka was off the pitch nursing a thigh problem.
But Martinelli still looked over the bench and gestured to put his arm around Saka.
It was a lovely touch from the Brazilian towards his teammate, and Arsenal supporters were rather emotional after seeing the pictures on Twitter.
Martinelli’s goal should only increase the calls for him to start more regularly.
The teenager surely has a chance of featuring on Thursday, even if Pierre Emerick Aubameyang makes it back in time to play.
Saka’s availability, meanwhile, will be something to leave Arsenal fans anxious going into the second-leg of their European contest with Slavia Prague.
