West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has taken to Twitter to show off the completed Olympic Stadium wrap ahead of tonight’s opener against NK Domzale.

The Hammers brought the curtain down on 112 years of history at their beloved Boleyn Ground at the end of the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Manchester United.

And now all eyes are on their big move to the 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium down the road in Stratford.

The stadium transformation has been moving at a pace and Slaven Bilic‘s side will play the first ever game at their new home against Slovenian side Domzale in a crucial Europa League match tonight.

First taste of new home

Hammers fans are excited to get a first taste of their new ground and 52,000 of them have sold out the club’s season ticket allocation – second only to Manchester United.

Those attending the first game will not get to see one of the key features of the stadium, the huge digital screen, which will be missing until the Hammers play Sunderland in October.

‘That’s a wrap’

But Brady has revealed on Twitter that workmen burned the midnight oil to get the club’s huge new ‘West Ham United’ illuminated sign and impressive stadium wrap finished on time.

“The outer wrap was being installed over night and the illuminated sign now complete,” Brady posted with a picture on Twitter.

“See you tonight.”

Fans more concerned with progress on the pitch

So any Hammers fans turning up for the Domzale opener, or indeed the official opening game against Italian giants Juventus on Sunday will now be greeted by the impressive features to make it feel more like home.

But they will be more concerned about the club’s progress on the pitch and in the transfer market as Bilic’s side look to better last season’s seventh place finish and their best ever Premier League points return.
