It’s very much out with the old and in with the new at Tottenham Hotspur.

Not only have Spurs hired Fabio Paratici as managing director and Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach, but the latter is bringing his own people in.

That spells bad news for the staff that remained at Tottenham after Jose Mourinho’s departure, like Ledley King.

The legendary Spurs centre-back had a role as first-team coach under Mourinho and later interim boss Ryan Mason.

But he has not been named as part of Nuno’s backroom staff at Hostpur Way, with the former Wolves boss hiring Ian Cathro, Rui Barbosa and Antonio Dias today.

The Lilywhites conceded 45 Premier League goals last season but there was some shambolic performances in the Europa League.

Here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to the fact that King would be returning to an ambassador role within the club.

Let’s face it, Tottenham’s defence was hardly exemplary last season while being coached by King.

But it must be pointed out that individual players in the North Londoners’ back four were responsible for individual errors – like, say, Serge Aurier – and it would be harsh to look upon it as a reflection of King’s coaching.

That being said, Tottenham, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, certainly do need a freshening up and it’ll be fascinating to see whether Nuno and his staff can do that.
