Even Arsenal fans have suggested that they think Tottenham Hotspur would be making a good signing by bringing in Matt Doherty from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Daily Mail suggest that Tottenham are closing in on the signing of the Republic of Ireland international, as they strengthen their squad for the new campaign.
Doherty should slot straight in at right-back, with Jose Mourinho’s side seemingly targeting players with Premier League experience this summer.
The strategy has already seen Joe Hart and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg sign.
And Arsenal fans think that Tottenham’s plan to sign Doherty is a smart one.
Doherty actually went on record earlier this year to say he was an Arsenal fan growing up, on Wolves’ official website.
The Daily Mail suggest that he would cost Tottenham £15 million to buy, and for that price he could turn out to be an excellent value for money addition.
Tottenham ended up finishing above Arsenal in the Premier League table last term, and they will hope that the addition of Doherty can help them finish even higher next time around.
