Michael Dawson has claimed that Leeds United possibly being without Patrick Bamford for the rest of the season is a ‘concern’, as he told Sky Sports News.

The former defender was told by Sky presenter, Jeff Stelling, that ‘it doesn’t look like’ Bamford will return to action this season.

Leeds, who sacked Marcelo Bielsa on Sunday, have seen their star striker only play 22 minutes of football since September.

Added with Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper’s injuries, it has all played a part in Leeds faltering and, in the end, having to part ways with their popular coach.

But when Dawson was told about the Bamford news, added with the club’s stats without Phillips, there was nothing but concern from the pundit.

“For me, Bamford is massive (miss),” said Dawson.

Stelling responded: “It doesn’t look like he will be back this season. Still not on the grass.”

Dawson then added: “And that’s a concern. Mentioned there without Kalvin, the stats that I saw, that is concerning.”

What next for Leeds? The man who guided them back to the promised land is no longer in the dugout.

They are shipping goals for fun and heading in the wrong direction and all at the wrong time.

Bielsa has taken a lot of hits for his style of play and his stubbornness to stick with his way and his way only.

But the players now have to take responsibility because the Elland Road crowd might just prove to be a bit more restless now.
