Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after seeing what German media outlet 11FREUNDE wrote about Kalvin Phillips.
What was said?
Following his Man of the Match display against Croatia, the Leeds academy graduate has been the name on everyone’s lips.
However, some comments have been more positive than others.
11FREUNDE’s article was actually one full of praise for the 25-year-old.
Having said that, they were still a bit harsh on what he was like before being managed by Marcelo Bielsa.
Phillips is described as being an ‘overweight pub footballer’ before the Argentine arrived at Elland Road, which is pretty unfair.

The 9-cap England international was still a fine young talent before Bielsa got his hands on him, so 11FREUNDE are really doing him a disservice.
Yes, Bielsa has benefitted his career greatly, but Phillips – who was praised by Jack Grealish – deserves credit for his own development as well.
Any publicity is good publicity
While Phillips might not appreciate being called an overweight pub footballer, it’s still fascinating to see him written about across Europe.
His status in the footballing world is growing and growing with each passing game – it’s no wonder the Leeds fans call him the Yorkshire Pirlo.

One German Leeds fan below wasn’t too happy at all with 11FREUNDE.
When translated, their tweet reads: “He was never an “obese pub footballer”@11Freunde, come on.”
Let’s see what some more of the Leeds supporters on Twitter have been saying about 11FREUNDE’s article…
