Steve Bruce has suggested to the Chronicle that Newcastle United are working on making two signings right now.
Newcastle currently face an uncertain summer, as their takeover still awaits approval.
However, the Magpies boss is eager to get some new additions through the door as soon as possible.
Bruce has made no secret of his desire to improve Newcastle’s squad.
And the Magpies boss suggests that Newcastle are now confident of getting a couple of deals done in the near future.
“It’s imperative that we get a bit of (transfer) business done, yes. And that’ll happen,” he insisted. “We’ve got one or two things bubbling away, let’s see what we can do.”

Newcastle have been linked with a huge number of players already this summer, with their budget currently uncertain.

Newcastle are known to be looking for a new number nine, after their goalscoring struggles this season, and it could be that a new striker is the top priority for Bruce to get over the line.
