
Troy Deeney told talkSPORT that he would love to work for ‘one of the best’ in Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho.
The Watford striker shared that he is told good things about Tottenham’s outspoken manager and his ‘great’ man-management skills.
In October, Deeney shared that there was geniune interest from Spurs for his services from the summer [Read Here]. But that’s when they needed depth in their forward line, which they now have.
Nonetheless, Deeney was asked whether or not he would love to work under Mourinho.
“Yes, why wouldn’t you want to be managed by one of the best,” said Deeney. “Even if you didn’t get on personality-wise.
“You would have nothing but respect and admiration for the man and for the players and calibre of clubs he has worked for.
“Everything I hear, he is a great man-manager. I suppose if you spoke to Dele Alli, he would say differently. But a lot of people I have spoken to say he’s really straight to the point, so for me, that would be perfect.”

Whilst Deeney won’t be working under Mourinho, both the player and the manager would have made a great combination because of their personalities had he signed for the North London club in the summer.
Instead, he has the likes of Pierre-Emerick Hojbjerg being his warrior-like players, as they push for a domestic trophy this term.
Reaching the League Cup final last night edges them ever closer to that piece of silverware, with a Manchester United or a Manchester City standing in their way in the final.
