Ian Wright has stated Joe Gelhardt’s skill that led to Leeds United’s crucial equalising goal against Brighton was ‘unbelievable’.

The former striker told MatchDay Extra on Premier League Productions (16/05/22 at 11:15 pm) that it’s a moment that makes you think ‘is it turning for us?’

As things stand, Leeds are out of the danger zone, but only because they have played a game extra than Burnley.

The Clarets will travel to Villa Park on Thursday night knowing a point will be enough to get them out of the bottom three – from their perspective, thanks to Leeds’ horror goal difference.

Nonetheless, it was Gelhardt’s dancing feet, bravery and composure that played a massive part in Leeds’ equaliser against Brighton, as Wright praised the youngster.

“When you see somebody do something like that, you kind of think ‘is it turning for us?’,” said Wright.

“That was an unbelievable skill at the end from him.”

LEEDS FINAL DAY BATTLE LIKE PLAY-OFF FINAL

The Championship play-off final is always dubbed as the most expensive game in football, given what is on the line.

Well, the same could be said for Leeds United on Sunday when they battle it out for safety.

Jesse Marsch’s side need a favour from Aston Villa and they will then know a win at Brentford will keep them up.

However, if Burnley manage to get something from Villa, then fate will be in their hands.
