Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur’s return to training and some notable absentees.
Spurs’ skeleton squad is back training and while certain players are still away at the World Cup, the non-internationals are back at Hotspur Way preparing for the return of the Premier League.
Unfortunately though, some players are still suffering with fitness issues, and according to Gold, Ryan Sessegnon isn’t back in full training yet, stating that while he is back out on the grass, he’s not working with the rest of the squad.

Sess training separately
Gold shared what he knows about Sessegnon.
“Who has been out there? I know that Sess is out there working on the grass, but he’s not quite working with the squad yet. That was the case yesterday when I was asking around. I think since then pictures have shown him out on the grass, but he’s not with the full squad yet, so we’ll see whether the Motherwell comes too soon,” Gold said.
Will be back
While it’s somewhat disheartening to hear that Sessegnon isn’t in full training quite yet, it’s positive to hear that he’s back working outdoors.
Indeed, when a player is out working on the grass, that indicates that a return from injury isn’t far away, and with three weeks to go until the Premier League returns, Sessegnon should be back fit and firing by the time Tottenham are back in league action.
Of course, whether the youngster starts ahead of Ivan Perisic in the first game back remains to be seen, but he should be fit enough to play a part if Antonio Conte wants him to.
