Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after Fabrizio Romano claimed they made a club-record breaking offer for Lautaro Martinez this summer.
Spurs were strongly linked with the Inter striker, but apparently, the Argentine had no intention of joining the north London club as he only wanted to stay at Inter.
The San Siro outfit also had no intention of selling the striker after the departure of Romelu Lukaku, but that didn’t stop Spurs from testing the Italian club.
Indeed, Romano claims that Tottenham made a huge offer for the striker. The journalist says that Fabio Paratici offered a staggering deal worth around €90million (£77million), made up of €70million (£60million) up front with the rest coming in add-ons.
As you can imagine, this news sparked something of a reaction from the fanbase, and it’s fair to say the supporters were split on this news.
Some fans believe this offer was only made so that Tottenham could make it look like they have big ambitions even though it was always going to be rejected, while others were blown away by the terms reportedly on offer.
Here’s what Tottenham supporters have been saying about this claim…
