If Liverpool win here, all of a sudden their hopes of a top four finish are alive and they can kick on to potentially earn themselves a place in the Champions League next season.
However, if Manchester United get the three points here, then we may have to start thinking about the Red Devils as potential title contenders given their incredible run of form as of late.
This is bound to be a close contest, but according to Gabriel Agbonlahor, who was speaking to talkSPORT, United are favourites going into this one.
United to win 2-0
Agbonlahor gave his prediction for this game.
“Manchester United win. Liverpool are poor defensively. Manchester United are on a high and are looking to use that mentality that Ten Hag has gotten into the players. Jurgen Klopp spoke about his team being mentality monsters, but he’s lost that and he’s given it to Ten Hag. I’m going to go with Manchester United to win 2-0,” Agbonlahor said.
Tough place to go
United may be in much better form than Liverpool, but we mustn’t discount just how important home advantage can be in games like this.
Liverpool may be a different team this season, but their form at Anfield remains nigh-on impeccable.
Of course, Leeds won here earlier this season, but that was a rare result after years of barely dropping a point at home.
It’s incredibly tough to predict Liverpool to lose at Anfield, but they may well be going into this game as slight underdogs.
