It has been nearly 20 years since Sol Campbell made that fearless yet controversial move from Tottenham to Arsenal.
Even though many years have passed since Campbell made that switch, it still sends shockwaves across North London today and it’s something that will never be forgotten.
And with a certain Tottenham hitman seemingly wanting to leave this summer, according to Sky Sports, Arsenal’s boss was recently asked about Harry Kane’s future.
Mikel Arteta hailed the ‘incredible’ work Kane has done at Spurs and was then questioned as to whether Arsenal could sign him, as posted by talkSPORT.
Of course, such a deal won’t happen today but it did raise a little chuckle from the Arsenal man, who simply stated that he doesn’t know whether Kane will be leaving Spurs and how there are ‘too many ifs’ to all of this.
Both Spurs and Arsenal supporters have reacted to Arteta’s comments and offered a mixed view on the matter.
Whilst Kane won’t leave his current club for Arsenal, another London outfit in Chelsea are one of the interested parties in his services, and once again, such a move would cause a real stir.
But given Kane’s love for Spurs, it would be a surprise if he left for another London outfit, as the Tottenham faithful hope their club show some backbone and ambition by keeping hold of their star man.
Either way, when it comes to transfers and manager decisions then a big summer awaits for both clubs in North London.
